Venus Transit Scope Setup

Here is a brief description of my setup for the Venus Transit. I have a 10" SkyQuest Dobsonian telecope...

The solar filter is an off-axis glass AstroZap filter that I ordered from Company Seven (great place to get a scope by the way)...

My camera (or maybe I should say my wife's camera that gets to "moonlight" occasionally as an astrophotography camera) is a Canon EOS Rebel with a homemade aluminum adapter ring that attaches directly to my focuser assembly. I also have an IR remote I use to take the photos...

I took a few test shots of the Sun this past weekend to try out my new filter. The Sun had a few sun spots on Saturday, so it proved to be a good day to take some test images. I wasn't quite in focus in this image, but pretty close. Honestly I'm more excited about getting to see the Venus Transit with my own eyes, getting a few good images is just icing on the cake!
