This week's Vincent Award goes to Philip Newall. Philip lost his wife to an autoimmune skin disease called scleroderma a year ago and wanted to do something extremely difficult to both honor her and to help raise money for scleroderma research and the hospice that helped care for his wife.
"If I did something simple it wouldn't justify what she put up with"
So Philip decided to run for 24 hours straight. Philip is not a long distance runner. He has run in the past, 2 half marathons, but that doesn't really compare to running for 24 hours straight.
"I'm not an athlete, I'm just a dad"
So far Philip has raised $3000. Congratulations for holding nothing back Philip, I think everyone would agree this definitely is NOT something simple you decided to tackle. Good luck!
